Lots of boats visit the Island.
Hello everyone, well I feel a bit sheepish because I haven’t written before this but life has been trickling on. We had a wonderful Christmas and a great New Year spent with lots of family. Our house is back to normal now very quiet. The family had a most enjoyable time, fishing and crabbing, kayaking and snorkelling. Etc. One of our most memorable times was spent on a day trip to Rottnest Island. (Originally named “Rats nest" after the native animals called quokkas which look a bit like large rats)
Some of the Ferry Boats
Rottnest is situated about a 30 minute ferry trip across the water from Fremantle. It is a beautiful island. We spent the day enjoying the water (The family swam and snorkelled in the ocean), we also ventured into the local bakery for lunch, which is well known for their delicious pastries. Bill and myself relaxed in the Dome Cafe for a much enjoyed coffee break while the youngsters enjoyed exploring the island and snorkelling.
What's This? A Beached Whale?
Talk again soon Jan
